Goodbye, summer

Part of me is still hoping that September will deliver a good heat wave, but as I was pulling out my wool sweater and umbrella this morning it was difficult to get too optimistic. Then while I was doing my grocery shopping I saw the word "maple" on a carton of yogurt, and I realized that I might be able to get excited about this premature autumn if I put some effort into it.
