Finally - I finally got to try them! I've been reading about salty caramels forever, but couldn't bring myself to fork out the dollars to try them. However, my mom received some as a gift and was kind enough to share. Yay! The reason I have been so drawn to these is because 1) I LOVE chocolate and caramel, and 2) I love chocolate and salt (particularly in the form of Chubby Hubby Ice Cream, or World Peace Cookies.) Therefore, chocolate, salt, and caramel all in one should be pretty good, right? Yes! Very tasty, with a very satisfying crunch to go along with it. The one change I would make to these would be to distribute the salt more evenly on the candy (I realize that would decrease the cute factor, but it would be nice for those of us that like to take small bites...)

I had a much less classy salty sweet treat today. Some kids were doing a bake sale outside our local hardware store to raise money for books for their school (yeah, it's a small, poor town!). Anyway, they had big pretzel rods that they had dipped in caramel and then dipped in chocolate. I've had something similar before but somehow those kids hit the money on this one. I had to go back and get another one because Abby wouldn't give me any more bites of hers! Yummy, sweet and salty.
I've read that you should put the salt side on your tongue and eat it that way.
MMmm. Love chocolate, caramel, and salt.
I forgot to mention, that I like the view from the apartment. Seattle must be cool. I would be in coffee heaven.
GOD I love these things. The price tag is just plain un-fair. I will be putting my take on these flavors on my menu next week- a chocolate caramel tart with murray river salt and cocoa nib chantilly. A fancy pants twix bar, if you will : )
